In my office we are using Symantec AntiVirus Corporate 10.2 and it is updated every day. i dont hav internet in my room I want to take some files and copy them into my lap top, so that my antivirus software updated.but i dont know i copy the files and paste them. i dont want to download updates of virus definations from the website will only copy and paste any body can guide me

This article describes four of the most common problems associated with Windows Vista, and suggests possible solutions to these problems. The problems discussed relate to restore Vista to work in dual-boot environments, problems with Symantec antivirus 10.2 and Adobe Reader 8 install.
1) The use of "Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore Image "And Program Installation problem in Windows Vista
After the restoration of Vista with Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore Image "could not install some programs. As a result of this problem, you would see the following error message:
"The directory name is invalid "
Solution: The above problem is due to the fact, "Temp" folder is not successfully restored after the Backup is restored. Normally this folder in "C is found WindowsTemp" location. To solve this problem, re-create the Temp folder in the above location. After you done that have correct permissions are assigned to this "temp" folder. To do this, follow these steps:
a) Click on Start -> All Programs -> Accessories.
b) Enter your admin password and press "Continue".
c) At the prompt, type the following command:
md% windir% temp
d) Click on Start -> run, type% windir% in the "Search" Box -> click "Windows" in the Programs list.
e) Select the Temp folder -> right click -> click "Properties".
f) Click the Security tab -> Click "Advanced" -> Click "Edit".
g) Clear the checkbox to say "Include inheritable permissions from the parent"
h) Click on "Remove" -> Click "OK".
i) Two warnings are invited. Click "Yes" in each message.
j) Click Close on "OK" twice to the "Advanced Security Settings" and "Folder Properties" dialog box.
h) Enter the following Command at the command prompt and press "ENTER". This command must be entered in a single line:

2) installing an earlier version of Windows in dual-boot configuration, and Windows Vista startup problem
If an earlier version of Windows Vista is installed (in a dual-boot configuration), no longer boot Windows Vista. Only the other Windows operating system was installed earlier is able to launch. This problem occurs because of the incompatibility of earlier versions of Windows with Windows Vista.
Solution: To solve this problem, follow these steps:
a) Enter this command at the command prompt:
Drive: bootBootsect.exe / NT60 All
Here, "Drive" stands for the drive containing the installation media of Windows Vista.
b) To create the entry in the BCD Boot.ini file for the earlier versions of Windows, type The following commands at the command prompt:
Drive: Windowssystem32Bcdedit / create (ntldr) / d "Description for earlier Windows version"
Drive: Windowssystem32Bcdedit / set (ntldr) device partition = x:
(Here, x: is the drive letter for the active partition)
Drive: Windowssystem32Bcdedit / set (ntldr) path ntldr
Drive: Windowssystem32Bcdedit / display order (ntldr) / addlast
c) Run Keep your computer now.
3) problems with Symantec Antivirus 10.2
Suppose that you enable EFS (Encrypted File System) in your document folder on your computer with antivirus (Symantec 10.2) for Vista. When you restart your computer and log in with the same user account that encrypted files are not longer be decrypted. This problem occurs only if folders are encrypted on the desktop or in the Documents folder.
Solution: This problem is solved by uninstalling antivirus. An alternative is to disable the "Auto Protect" feature resolve this problem. Alternatively, files protected Exclude (EFS-protected files) from being scanned.
This issue is fixed in a patch for Symantec Antivirus 10.2 for Windows Vista.
4) Adobe Reader 8 installation problem with Windows Vista
Another well known problem of Windows Vista using Adobe Reader 8 If you have a power user, User Account Control Points, or if you default administrator, you can see that Adobe Reader is not installed after downloading.
Solution: There are two ways to solve this problem.
a) Turn off UAC if it is turned off. Then go to Control Panel -> Click on User Accounts -> Click on "User Account Control on or off. Now restart the computer and install the Adobe Reader. After installation, you can turn off UAC again, if necessary.
b) If the UAC is on, but can not install the Adobe Reader, then to follow:
Go to folder The Adobe installer is saved. Right-click on the file -> Click the "Compatibility" -> Under the compatibility mode check box say: "Run Run this program in compatibility mode" -> Below, Windows XP, choose from the list.
Now, Adobe Reader is installed successfully.
