Which you choose? Formal or casual tableware dishes? Ideally, you should look for both. You have over your lifetime, the need for them both. Unfortunately, you probably do not want, they buy now. Last I checked, they can be very expensive. And so you have to make a decision you choose?
Casual tableware is probably to a greater variety of colors. It is likely, in bright, bold patterns are available. Often the plates are larger and thicker. All in all, I think they evoke a casual feel and makes me to friends and family at dinner in the kitchen, eat casually or a jumble out there of people in my house.
Formal dish often comes in white, with light, delicate patterns. The plates are usually thinner and smaller than casual plates. It reminds to images of quiet, romantic dinners, holiday meals with family and friends and hosting business dinners. It does not have feelings of boredom or sleep, but feeling the sophistication and elegance.
Which of the above descriptions fit your lifestyle the most? Most accurately adjust your goals and desires? Did you approach dinner as a casual affair in general, or do you feel it is a serious matter?
Today I think there are enough choices out there, something that sits somewhere to be found in the middle. Not too thin, too delicate, but not too "out there" for a sophisticated evening. I have seen some good examples of this lately, both in the homes of friends and family and in the shops.
I saw beautiful coral colored dish with a distinctive square shape. They had no patterns on them, but the color was interesting. It struck me how creative – demanding. I think that they could easily be used both for formal and a casual occasion has been. It is possible to find the middle ground, if that's what you are looking for.
For purchase or clumsy shopper, I have also seen some Corelle dishes with elegant patterns and edges, that a formal dinner would fit very well.
Casual or formal, there are many brands, materials and patterns available. Ultimately it is up to you to decide which style fits your lifestyle.
